Ottawa Korean Community School (OKCS) runs from September to June, with a summer program offered in July for one month.

What is the current school year registration?
현재 등록 가능한 학기는 올해9월 시작으로 내년 6월 봄학기까지 진행되는 수업입니다. 여름학기는 7월시작으로 6월 말쯤 따로 등록 안내가 나갑니다.
Registration is currently open for the fall semester, which runs from this September to June of next year. The summer semester begins in July, and registration details will be sent by the school board in June.

How do I register as a new student if my child(ren) are new to OKCS or were not enrolled last year?
새로운 학생이거나, 지난번 학기에 등록하지 않았으면, New Student (아래 링크) 양식을 통해 등록바랍니다.
등록 후, 등록금 이메일 안내에 따라 등록금 $10 (온타리오 거주자에 한에, 타주 거주자 등록금은 상이합니다) 지불하시면, 등록 완료입니다.
등록이 완료된 학생은 첫 등교 안내 이메일 및 담임 선생님의 이메일을 새학기 시작 일주일 전에 받아보실 수있습니다. 첫 등교를 위해 아이들의 반 이름을 숙지해 주시기 바랍니다.

If your child(ren) are new students or were not enrolled at OKCS last year, please register them using the new student registration link below.
After completing the registration, you will receive an email regarding the $10 registration fee (for Ontario residents only, registration fee for residents outside of Ontario differs). Once the payment is completed, your registration will be finalized. You will then receive a “first day information” email from us a week before school starts, followed by an email from your child(ren)’s teachers. Please ensure you know your child(ren)’s class names for their first day of school.

기존학생 경우, 교육청에서 재등록 양식이 발송됩니다. 지난 학기에 OKCS 등록 학생이였음에도 불구하고, 재등록 양식을 8월 말까지 받지 못하셨다면, OKCS (ottawakoreanschool@gmail.com) 로 문의 부탁드립니다.

If your child(ren) are returning students, you should receive a shorter registration email from the school board by the end of August at the latest. If you do not receive the email by then, please contact us at ottawakoreanschool@gmail.com.

Yes, if you completed the online registration, your child(ren) can still start school. There have been some delays with the payment emails.

I completed the online registration through the school board website, but I haven’t received an email from OKCS about the “first day information” and/or an email from the teachers.
등록 후, 첫 수업 일주일 전까지 한글학교 첫 등교 공지 이메일을 받지 못하셨다면, ottawakoreanschool@gmail.com으로 이메일 주시기 바랍니다.
첫 등교 공지 이메일은 받았는데, 선생님 이메일을 받지 못하셨다면, 첫 등교날 학교 정문에 있는 인포데스크로 와 주시기 바랍니다.
If you haven’t received the “first day information” email from us by a week before the first day of school, please contact us at ottawakoreanschool@gmail.com.
If you received the “first day information” email but haven’t heard from your teachers, please visit the front desk on the first day of school.
- 등록을 다 마쳤는데, 여의치 않게 등교를 중단/취소해야 할때 절차는 무엇인가요?
I completed the registration, but I need to withdraw my child(ren). What should I do?
등록취소시, 따로 진행 하셔야 할 절차는 없습니다. Ottawakoreanschool@gmail.com 으로 이메일을 주시면, 추후 학교공지 이메일 리스트에서 공지를 받으시는 번거로운 일이 없게 삭제 됩니다.
만일, 교육청에 내신 등록금 환불을 원하신다면, 교육청 (Pli-ilp@ecolecatholique.ca)으로 직접 문의 부탁드립니다.
If you are withdrawing your child(ren) after registration, no further action is required on your part. We will remove your email address from our mailing list to stop future communications.
If you would like a refund for the payment made to the school board, please contact them directly at Pli-ilp@ecolecatholique.ca.

I want to register my child(ren), but the semester has already started. Can I still register them?
학기 시작 이후로도 등록 가능합니다. 다만, 수업진도가 이미 많이 진행됐거나, 정원초과 시, 간혹 다음 학기까지 기다리셔야 될 수도 있습니다.

Yes, you can still register your child(ren) after the semester has started. However, in rare cases, we may not be able to accommodate them if the curriculum has progressed significantly or if the class has reached its maximum capacity. I want to discuss my child(ren)’s classes or change their class. What should I do?
아이 반배정이나 수준, 반이동은 담임 선생님과 직접 상의해 주시기를 부탁드립니다.
If you would like to discuss your child(ren)’s class, levels, or the possibility of moving to another class, please contact your child(ren)’s homeroom teacher directly before or after school.

How do we pick up and drop off our child(ren)?
Junior Kindergarten 과 Senior Kindergarten 학생들은 부모님들이 직접 교실까지 등학교 시켜주시기 바랍니다.
1학년부터 8학년 학생들은 학교 운동장에 모여서 등하교를 합니다.
등교시, 학생들이 각 반 이름표 앞에 줄을 설 수 있도록 안내해 주시기 바랍니다. 운동장이 혼잡할 수 있으니, 부모님들은 게이트 안으로 들어가시지 마시고, 게이트 앞에서 안내 부탁드립니다.
하교시, 각반 담임 선생님이 게이트앞에서 부모님 확인 후 하교합니다.
수업에 지장을 주지 않기위해 정시에 등하교를 할 수있도록 해 주시기 부탁드립니다.
For junior and senior kindergarteners, parents should drop off and pick up their child(ren) at the classroom through the front door.
For grades 1 to 8, child(ren) will be dropped off and picked up in the school yard. Class signs will be displayed, so please guide your child(ren) to line up in front of their class sign. The yard can get crowded, please remain outside the gate and encourage your child(ren) to find their class. Pick-up will be conducted in the same manner. Students will exit with their teachers and will only be released once they see their parents.
To prevent any interruptions during class, please ensure that your child(ren) arrive at school and leave on time.

I need to pick up my child(ren) early on occasion. What should I do?
아이를 일찍 픽업 하셔야하는 날은, 아이를 통해서나, 노트, 이메일 등으로 미리 담임 선생님께 알려주십시요. 정문으로 오셔서 아이를 픽업하시면 됩니다.
If you need to pick up your child(ren) early, please inform your homeroom teacher in advance via email, a note, or through your child(ren). When you arrive, please go to the front entrance to pick up your child(ren).

실내화, 간단한 간식 (피넛, 너트 프리), 개인 물병, 간단한 학용품
Indoor shoes, snacks (peanut/nut free), water bottle, basic stationery
- 주차는 어디에 하나요?
Where do I park?
등하교 시간에 학교 앞쪽 및 드랍오프 존이 매우 혼잡합니다. 학생들의 안전과 원활한 교통을 위해, 학교 뒤쪽 주차 공간을 이용해 주시기 바랍니다. 거리 주차 시, Parkhaven Ave. 양방향으로 주차를 하실 경우 차량 통행이 어려우니 오른쪽(학교방향)에만 주차를 부탁드립니다.
The area in front of the school becomes congested during drop-off and pick-up times. To ensure the safety of our students and a smooth traffic flow, please use the parking area behind the school or street parking.
If you park on the street, please park only on the right side (school side) of Parkhaven Ave. to avoid obstructing traffic.
