    학부모님들께,

     
    오타와 한글학교 개학일(9월12일, 토요일)이 다가왔습니다.
     
    9월 5일까지 등록을 마친 학생들에게는 배정된 반의 담임선생님께서 다음주 중 자세한 안내 메일을 보낼 예정입니다. 이후에 등록을 한 학생들은 개학날 현관으로 오셔서 반배정 안내를 받으시기 바랍니다.
    이메일 문제로 자녀(들)를 신규 또는 재학생으로 등록하지 못한 학부모님께서 개학 첫날 자녀(들)와 함께 현관 안내 데스크로 와 주시기 바랍니다.
     
    학교 위치 : 920 Parkhaven Ave.
     

    1. 첫날 등교 (9:30 am)
    학교 운동장에서 각반의 담임선생님께서 반이름이 적힌 표지판 앞에서 학생들을 맞이하게 됩니다.

    유치부는 바로 교실로 등교하시면 됩니다.
     
    2. 하교 (12:00pm)
    각반 담임 선생님께서 학생들을 인솔하여 운동장으로 나와 울타리 밖에서 기다리고 계시는 학부모님들께 보내드릴 예정입니다.
    유치부 픽업도 각 교실 앞에서 하시면 됩니다.
     
     
    3. 준비물
    개인 물병, 간식, 필기구, 실내화, 모자, 선크림 등
    간식은 견과류를 제외하고 준비해주시기 바랍니다.
    개학 첫날 모두 즐겁게 맞이하시길 기원합니다.

    Dear Parents and guardians,
     
    The opening day of the Ottawa Korean Community School (September 12th, Saturday) is approaching.
     
    For students who have registered by September 5th, the homeroom teacher will send a detailed information email during this week.
    Students who registered recently, please come to the front door on the first day of school to receive class assignment information.
    Parents who have not been able to register their child(ren) as a new or returning student due to technical difficulties are asked to come to the information desk with their child(ren) on the first day of school. 
     
    School location : 920 Parkhaven Ave.
     
     
    1. First day of school (9:30 am)

    From Grade 1 to 8 will be greeted on the school grounds by their homeroom teacher in front of a sign with their class name.
    Kindergarten will go directly to their classroom. 
     
    2. Dismissal (12:00pm)
    The homeroom teacher of each class will lead the students to the playground and send them to the parents waiting outside the fence.

    Kindergarten parents may pick up their children in front of each classroom.

    3.  Bring materials
    Personal water bottle, snacks, writing utensils, slippers, hat, sunscreen, etc.
    Please prepare NUT FREE snacks.

    봄을 맞아 벼룩시장 행사를 계획 중입니다.
    집 정리를 하시며 발견하신 아이들 물건, 책, 살림살이 등 더 이상 필요하지 않지만 상태가 좋은 물건들이 있다면, 함께 팔고 사고 나누는 시간을 갖고자 합니다.

    2026년 한글학교 여름 캠프에 대해 다음과 같이 등록 안내 드립니다.
    [ 캠프 구성 ]
     
    1. 오전 프로그램 : 한글 수업 중심
    2. 오후 캠프 : 한글과 한국 문화 관련 수업 및 액티비티 중심 (한국 무용, 음악, 창작 미술, 요리, 과학 등)
    3. 오전 및 오후 수업 전/후 돌봄 교실(EDP) 운영
    한글학교 여름 캠프는 오전과 오후로 나눠 구성되며, 오전만 등록하시거나, 오전과 오후 모두 등록하실 수 있습니다.
    단, 오후 캠프 또는 돌봄 서비스만 별도로 등록하시는 것은 불가능합니다. 오전 프로그램을 등록한 경우에만 신청가능합니다.

    • 한글학교 캠프는 현재 JK~8학년까지 등록 가능합니다. 2025~2026년 기준 학년으로 등록해주세요. 2026년 9월 기준 학년이 아닙니다.
    • 각 주별로 준비된 프로그램이 다를 수 있으며, 오후 캠프는 오전 프로그램과 등록 학생과 인원이 달라 담임 선생님 및 반이 변경될 수 있습니다.
    • 등록비 결제는 이트랜스퍼로 진행됩니다. 사전 신청하신 분들께는 4월 중순까지 신청 확인 이메일을 보내드립니다. 이후 결제 안내 이메일은 5월 중 발송될 예정입니다. 추후 결제 안내 이메일을 받고 진행하시기 바랍니다.
    • 한인 업체의 점심 도시락은 작년과 달리 주 2회만 운영될 예정이며, 그 외에는 댁에서 도시락 준비가 필요합니다.
    오후 캠프에 등록하고자 하시는 분은 이후 오전 프로그램에도 꼭 자녀를 등록해주시기 바랍니다. 오후 캠프만 등록하시는 것은 불가능하며, 오전 캠프를 등록하지 않으신 경우에는 오후 캠프 등록도 취소되니 주의하시기 바랍니다.

    We are pleased to announce the registration details for our 2026 Summer camp.
    [Camp Component]
    1. Morning Program : Korean language classes
    2. Afternoon Program : Korean cultural classes and activities (Korean traditional dance, music, art, cooking, science etc.)
    3. Before and After Care(EDP) : childcare services available before and after the sessions
    The camp is divided into a morning and an afternoon program. Depending on your preference, you may choose to register for the morning program only, or for both the morning and afternoon. However, please note that registration for only the afternoon program is NOT available. You must register for the morning program in order to enroll in the afternoon session.
    1. Morning Program – CECCE’s International Language Program (ILP) Korean Language Course
    – Time: 9:00 am – 11:30 pm
     
    Registration will be processed via the school board website (for new students) or the registration email sent to parents (for returning students). Please note that the registration fee is non-refundable.
    The registration fee for the morning program is $10 for Ontario residents, and $150 for out-of-province or international students.
    2. Afternoon Program & Before/After Care(EDP) – run by OKCS
    – Time: 11:30 am – 4:00 pm
    – EDP time: 8:00 – 9:00 am / 4:00 – 5:00 pm

    – Pre-Registration Period: from Monday, March 30, 10:00 AM to Wednesday, April 8, 10:00 PM
    – The link for the registration will be opened at 10 am on March 30 and will be sent via email that morning.

    3. Payment details will be provided after the location is confirmed (expected in May)
    • The Afternoon Camp registration link will be sent by email at 10:00 AM on March 30. You may register for selected weeks only if desired.
    • Early registration for the Afternoon Camp will close at 10:00 PM on April 8. The early registration period will not be extended. Depending on the early registration results, a second registration may open in May. (If registration opens in May, the fee will be $630 for the full 4-week camp, and the weekly registration fee will also change.)
    • The camp is currently open to students from JK to Grade 8. Please register according to the 2025-2026 school year grade, not the grade as of September 2026.
    • Programs may vary by week. Please note that Afternoon Camp classes may be organized differently from the morning program due to the registration status, and students may have a different teacher and class assignment.
    • Camp fee will be paid via e-transfer. Those who register early will receive a confirmation email at the end of March. A payment instruction email will be sent in May, and payment should be made after receiving that email.
    • Korean-style lunch catering service will be available twice a week, unlike last year. For the remaining days, students will need to bring their own lunch from home.
    Important Reminder: If you wish to register for the Afternoon Program completely, you must register your child(ren) for the morning program later. Afternoon registration is not available without the morning registration. If you do not register for the morning program later, your afternoon registration will be canceled.

    – 기간: 3월 28일 토 ~ 6월 6일 토요일 (총 9회 – 4월 4일과 5월 16일은 휴무로 수업이 없습니다)
    – 시간: 12:30 ~ 1:30 PM, 1시간

    2. If you have two or more children, please submit a separate application for each child.
    3. If a class does not meet the minimum enrollment, we will contact parents whose children are on the waitlist of other full classes.
    Payment
    – Tuition Fee : $60 (No hidden costs)
    – Payment Period : Monday, March 2 – Sunday, March 8
    – Payment instructions will be sent separately to parents whose registration is confirmed after the application due date.
    Lunch orders will not be available for this after-school program.
    Please prepare additional snacks or a simple lunch for your child, keeping in mind that the class ends at 1:30 PM. After the morning classes end, students will be dismissed and move to the after-school program classrooms, and approximately 20-25 minutes will be provided for snack time.

    안녕하세요,
    한글학교 가족분들께 몇가지 안내 드립니다.
    1. 날씨에 맞는 옷차림
    벌써 눈이 내려서 한층 추워진 요즘입니다. 학생들이 건강하게 바깥 놀이를 할 수 있도록 날씨에 맞는 옷차림 (모자, 장갑, 목도리 등) 부탁드립니다. 또한 윈터부츠를 신는 계절이므로 실내화도 꼭 챙겨주시기 바랍니다.
    2. 아이가 아플 때
    바이러스성 감기가 유행입니다. 아이가 열이 나거나, 컨디션이 좋지 않으면, 집에서 휴식을 취할 수 있게 해주십시요.
    3. 주차 안내 표지판
    겨울철은 쌓여있는 눈 등으로 한글학교 주변 정차 및 주차가 한층 더 쉽지 않습니다. 학생들의 안전과 주변 주민의 편의 및 원활한 교통 흐름을 위해 자체적으로 주차 금지 표지판을 활용할 예정입니다. 사인을 잘 따라주시기 바라며, 학교 주변 길에는 오른쪽에만 주차를 부탁드립니다.
    4. 중고 책 판매 / 기부
    • 중고 한국어 동화책을 11월 15일과 22일 이틀간 판매할 예정입니다.
    • 책은 2권당 1불로 현금 구입만 가능 (거스름돈 없음) 합니다. 책 판매 기금은 한글학교 기부금으로 활용됩니다.
    • 혹은 댁에 보관 중이신 한국어 동화책을 행사 중 기부하시는 것도 가능합니다.
    • 하교 시간인 12시에 스쿨야드에서 진행되니 학생들과 함께 둘러보시고 마음에 드는 책은 구입하시기 바랍니다.

    Dear OKCS families
    We have a few announcements to share:
    1. Weather-appropriate clothing
    Winter has arrived early, and it’s getting much colder. Please ensure your child comes dressed warmly for outdoor play during recess (hat, gloves, scarf, etc.). Since most students now wear winter boots, don’t forget to send indoors shoes.
     
    2. Sick day
    Colds, flus and other respiratory illnesses are more common in colder months. If your child shows any symptoms, please keep them at home to allow for proper recovery.
     
    3. Following parking signs 
    Snow in the winter makes parking around the school more challenging. For student safety and smooth traffic flow, we will be placing our own No Parking and Exit signs. Please follow the signs, and remember to park only on the right side of the streets around the school.
    4. Used Book Sale/Fair 
    We will be selling used Korean children’s books on November 15 and 22.
    Books are $1 for two, cash only (no change), and all proceeds will support the school for school events and activities. You may also donate any Korean children’s books, if you wish.
    The sale will take place in the schoolyard at 12:00 P.M., during dismissal. Please stop by with your children and pick out some books!
